Introduction

After looking at several recipes for waffles I decided to try combining and modifying my favorites to come up with a version using ingredients I usually have on hand and with a calorie count that would allow me to enjoy them guilt free. This is what I came up with. After looking at several recipes for waffles I decided to try combining and modifying my favorites to come up with a version using ingredients I usually have on hand and with a calorie count that would allow me to enjoy them guilt free. This is what I came up with.
Number of Servings: 2

Ingredients

    1 dash Salt
    1/4 tsp Vanilla Extract
    1 Tbsp. Applesauce, unsweetened
    1 tsp Baking Powder
    1/2 cup Buttermilk
    1/2 cup Flour - Gold medal all purpose flour
    1 large Egg, fresh, whole, raw
    3 tsp Splenda Granulated

Tips

Spray the waffle iron with Butter Flavor Pam, spray the waffle with I Can't Believe It's Not Butter spray and top with 1/8 cup sugar free syrup for a calorie increase of only 10 calories per serving.


Directions

Mix all ingredients well while waffle iron is heating. Pour batter into waffle iron, cook until brown (most waffle irons have an auto shut off feature)

Serving Size: 2 servings (1/2 round waffle each)
