    Put in bowl 1
    1 1/3 cups boiling water
    1 cup oats
    Put in bowl 2
    1/2 cup butter
    1 cup sugar
    1 cup brown sugar
    2 well beaten eggs
    Put in bowl 3
    1 1/2 cups flour
    1 tsp baking soda
    1/2 tsp salt
    1 tsp cinnamon

    6 tbl butter
    1/4 cup milk
    1/2 cup brown sugar
    1/2 tsp vanilla
    2 cups shredded coconut
    1.5 cups chopped walnuts


Mix by alternating Bowl 1 and Bowl 2 into Bowl 3. Put in two greased and floured 9 inch cake pans. Bake at 350' until the cake just begins to separate from the sides of the pans. The middle should be firm.

While the cake is baking, cook the butter, milk, brown sugar and vanilla over a medium high heat. When the butter is melted and all ingredients are blended together, add the coconut and walnuts to the above mixture and pour over the two layers of the cake. This makes a two layer cake. Yield = 12 servings
