    1 long loaf french bread
    6 tablespoons butter or margarine
    4 tsp. chopped fresh parsley
    3 tsp. chopped fresh basil or oregano or any other fresh herbs.


Preheat oven to 350.

Slice French loaf along length but don't cut all the way through. Melt butter in a small pan and stir in herbs. Brush mixture along inside of bread until all used up. Wrap whole French loaf in foil and bake for 10 minutes.

Serve and enjoy.

  • A fast and easy herbed bread, I think I would add some garlic to it as well. It should work well on whole wheat french bread, too. - 3/25/07
