    2 cups shredded red cabbage
    1 Granny Smith apple, peeled and sliced thinly
    1/2 med onion, sliced thinly
    1 tsp brown sugar
    1 tsp butter
    1/4 tsp salt
    1 tsp olive oil
    3 T vinegar, red wine or cider
    salt and pepper -- to taste


Saute cabbage, onion, and apple in olive oil for 5-7 minutes. In another skillet, put brown sugar, salt, vinegar, and butter. Stir until sugar has dissolved. Add shredded cabbage, onion, and apple; mix well and heat through. Add salt and pepper to taste. Serves 4.
