Introduction

Basic gravy for mashed potatoes, tofurkey, biscuits, or whatever else you'd put gravy on. Really easy and very "meat and potatoes" tasting. Basic gravy for mashed potatoes, tofurkey, biscuits, or whatever else you'd put gravy on. Really easy and very "meat and potatoes" tasting.
Number of Servings: 8

Ingredients

    2 tbsp miso paste
    2 tbsp water
    2 tbsp margarine
    1/4 cup flour
    3 cups vegetable broth
    1 tbsp soy sauce
    1 tbsp nutritional yeast
    1 tsp black pepper
    1 tsp cornstarch dissolved in 1 tbsp water (optional)

Directions

Dissolve 2 T miso in 2 T warm water. In a skillet in medium low heat, add the flour and margarine and mix together. Then add the miso, vegetable broth, soy sauce, nutritional yeast, and pepper. Stir frequently while the mixture cooks and thickens. For thicker gravy, add the tsp of cornstarch dissolved in a tbsp of water - this is completely optional.

Makes about 8 half cup servings.
