Ingredients
-
2 lbs green beans
4 potatoes, peeled and cut into chunks
4 carrots, cleaned and cut into large chunks
1 medium onion chunked
1 clove garlic, sliced
2 slices of ham
2 links of sausage (Kobalsa or something in the same area)
Directions
Place all of the vegetables in a stock pot. (do not cut up the beans, just cut off the ends and leave whole). Add water until it covers the vegetables and allow to simmer on the stove for approximately 3 hours. Add the ham and sausage 1 hour before you are serving. Place the meat on top of the vegetables. DO NOT stir.
Serve in the stock pot with a large spoon.
*You can make soup with the leftovers. Purree the vegetables to make the base and then add chopped meat. Heat and serve.
NOTE: There is no salt or other spices added to this dish as the meat added at the last hour seasons the dish.
Add some bread and you have a great, healthy meal.
