2 pounds beef, shoulder roast (you can use up to 5 lbs with the seasonings mixture, but 2 pounds is more than enough for my family so the calories are for 2 lbs!)
    1 tbsp salt
    1 tbsp chili powder
    1 tsp thyme leaves
    1 tsp basil leaves
    1 tsp oregano leaves
    1 tsp paprika
    1 tsp black pepper
1 tsp chervil (can be substituted for 1 tsp parsley flakes and 1/8 tsp rubbed sage)
    1 tsp dry mustard
    1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
2 cups Coca Cola (DO NOT USE DIET!)

Trim excess fat from meat. Place the roast in crockpot. Blend the seasonings together. Pour Worcestershire over the beef and rub with the seasonings. Pour the coke along the side of the beef.

Cooking times vary by amount of meat, crockpot types and heat. Check after 2 hours.

  • I fixed this recipe tonight and the family loved it! I left out the salt due to my husband being on a low sodium diet. It was still very good. - 10/28/09
