Ingredients

    2 cans french style green beans
    1 tsp chili powder
    2-3 cloves of galic
    2 slices of bacon
    3 tbls butter or margerine
    3 tbls flour
    1 cup of skim milk
    1 cup of grated, lowfat cheddar cheese

Directions

Drain most of liquid from cans of green beans
place green beans with chili powder and garlic and two slices of bacon in pan on stove top and allow to cook on low heat for 30-40 minutes

When green beans are almost done, make a cheese sauce. To make cheese sauce in small sauce pan on low -med heat mix 3 tbls of flour and 3 tbls melted butter to make paste, then add 1 cup of cold milk, stir over low -med heat until creamy. Remove from heat and add 1 cup of grated cheese.

Place green beans in casserole dish, remove bacon pieces, pour cheese sauce over green beans and bake in 350 degree oven for 40 minutes.

Makes 8-10 1/2 cup servings
