Ingredients

    3 apples & pears peeled,cored & diced.
    1/4 cup(50 ml) brown sugar
    2 tbsp(25 ml) All-Purpose flour
    1 tsp cinnamon
    Biscuit Topping:
    1 cup(250ml)All-Purpose flour
    2 tbsp(25ml)sugar
    1 1/2 tsp(7ml) cold butter,cut into bits.
    1 egg
    1/2 cup(125)buttermilk

Directions

1.Combine apples,pears,sugar,flour & cinnamon.
Spoon into bottom of an 8" square(2L)baking dish.2.in a large bowl,combine or sift flour with sugar and baking powder.Cut in butter with a pastry blender or fingertips.3.In a medium bowl,whisk egg with buttermilk.Stir into flour mixture until a soft dough is formed.Spoon batter on top of fruit mixture in blobs,leaving room for fruit to bubble up on sides.4.Bake in a preheated oven at 375 degrees F(190 C) for 45-50 minutes or until biscuits are browned and fruit is very tender.Fruit should be bubbling around the biscuits.Cool cobbler for 15minutes.put a scoop of ice-cream on top(optional)makes 6-8 servings.
