Introduction

A Garrod family staple. It was easy to make with ingredients one might always have on hand. Here is the less fat, less calorie version. I use turkey bacon in this recipe, but you can use regular bacon. Mom Garrod would turn in her grave if she knew I was using turkey bacon. A Garrod family staple. Ingredients

    1 lb extra lean ground beef
    1/2 package Louis Rich turkey bacon - thin sliced
    1 cup chopped onion
    1 can red kidney beans
    1 can Busch's large butter beans
    1 large can pork 'n beans
    1/2 cup Heinz ketchup
    1 tsp dry mustard
    1 tsp white or cider vinegar
    1/2 tsp salt
    1/4 cup brown sugar
    2 tblsp black strap molasses

Directions

Makes 6 servings.
Brown hamburger and bacon together. Add onion. Pour off grease. Add rest of ingredients and bake 1 1/2 hours at 350 degrees.
