This is also a really good slowcooker meal just add all the ingredience turn on low and let it go for 6-8 hours.

I have servered this with whole grain pasta. or with gritts or polenta, or just on its own with a salad is great.

Ingredients

    2 cans sliced mushrooms
    1 can crushed tomatos
    4tbsp. extra virgin olive oil
    1.75 # stew beef
    1 cup medium diced onion
    3 tbsp italian seasoning
    1 tbsp dry basil
    2 tbsp garlic powder
    12 oz. beef stock
    12 oz. red wine
    4 small russet potatos peelled and quartered


Directions

heat oil in pan.add beef brown all sides. add onions and herbs and spices cook until tender. add drained mushrooms and wine and broth. bring to simmer add canned tomatos and potatoes. bring back to simmer and cook until meat and potatoes are fork tender and sauce has reduced.
About: 1.5 to 3 hrs.
