    Granulated Sugar, .25 cup
Kroger Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chips, 4 tbsp
    Milk, nonfat, .25 cup

    Powdered Sugar, .5 cup, unsifted
    Vanilla Extract, .5 tsp

Mix dry ingredients including the chocolate chips. In a mixing cup, combine the milk and egg whites and whisk together. Then add to dry mix and gently fold in. Don't over mix!

Drip by large spoonfuls on cookie sheet and shape into triangle. Cook for 10 minutes.

Mix the last 3 ingredients into an icing and drizzle over the top of the warm scones.

This recipe will yield 8 good size scones.

We enjoy these with a nice cup of tea or a latte!!!

  • These scones are delicious. The only change I would make is to make the icing a little thicker. - 5/3/09

Yes. The "serving" = 1 egg white. I updated the recipe to read 3 egg whites. Enjoy!

  • These scones were soooo good! Next time we might try adding dried cranberries instead of the chocolate chips. - 5/2/09
