Introduction

A simple, yummy tuna bake for any occasion. Good with salad. A simple, yummy tuna bake for any occasion. Good with salad.
Number of Servings: 3

Ingredients

    * Whole Wheat Penne 2 oz.
    * Milk, nonfat, 1 cup
    * Butter, salted, 100 grams
    * Cheddar Cheese, 1 cup, diced
    * Tuna, Canned in Water, 1 can

Directions

Makes 2-3 servings.

-Melt the butter in a microwave.
-Stir in the flour
-Add a little of the milk and return to micorwave.
-Heat for about 30 seconds, stir, add more of the milk.
-Repeat the last step until all the milk is used up.
-Add the diced cheese.
-Heat for another 30 seconds or so (be sure it doesn't turn lumpy!)
-Mix the tuna into this sauce
-Cook the pasta according to the instructions on the packet.
-Put the cooked pasta into the casserole dish
-Pour the sauce over it.
-Grill in the oven until it turns golden brown.

    Too much butter, too much salt for the number of servings. Way too many calories. Could be reduced a bit with lowfat cheese and less butter. - 2/10/09

    Two concerns:
    1) how much flour?
    2) 3+ ounces of butter for three servings??? Way too much fat.
