Ingredients

    2 bunches asparagus (about 5-6 cups)
    2 tbsp butter
    3 tbsp flour
    1/2 tsp salt
    1/8 tsp pepper
    3 c. milk

Directions

Wash asparagus and break off tough ends. Cut into 1/2" pieces. Cook in a small amt. of water until tender (about 5 min).

Place butter in pan. Melt over low; add flour, salt, and pepper, and stir. Add milk and stir continuously until mixture thickens.

Drain asparagus but reserve 1 c. liquid. Pour liq. and asparagus into blender. Slowly add white sauce and blend until smooth; reheat.
