Ingredients

    2 cups Steelcut or Irish oatmeal
    8 cups water
    1 cup chopped apple
    1/3 cup dried cranberries
    dash salt

Directions

Mix oats, water, cranberries and salt in 5 or 6 quart slow cooker. Add the apples in last hour of cooking. Set on low for 7 to 8 hours. Add more water for a creamier consistency.

    Does this keep well in the fridge for the whole eight days? I'm pretty sure my hubby would not eat this so it would be just me. - 11/24/09

    Yes it does. I have portioned out serving sizes in the refrigerator for a week's worth of breakfast, really saves on time.
