Introduction

Ingredients

    Potatoes - 500 gms
    Onion - 1 large
    Green chillies - 2
    Salt - to taste
    Turmeric Powder - 1 tsp
    Urad dhal - 1 tsp
    Bengal gram (chana dal) - 1tsp
    Curry leaves - 2 sprigs
    Sunflower Oil - 3 tsp

Directions

1) Boil , peel and mash the potatoes
2) Slice the onions
3) Heat the pan, add three teaspoons of sunflower oil and once heated, add mustard seeds.
4) Once the mustard seeds start to splutter, add the urad and bengal gram and saute till light brown.
5) All the green chilles and curry leaves and saute for about five seconds
6) Add the onions, turmeric and salt and saute till the onions turn translucent
7) Add the mashed potatoes, two cups of water, mix and let it simmer for about ten minutes.
8) The dish is ready to serve.
Note: Each serving is about two tablespoons.
