Ingredients

    2/3 cup canola oil
    1/4 cup molasses
    1 egg
    3/4 cup packed brown sugar
    1/4 cup granulated sugar
    1 cup whole wheat flour
    1 cup all purpose flour
    1 teaspoon Baking Powder
    1 teaspoon Baking Soda
    1/4 teaspoon salt
    1/2 teaspoon ground cloves
    1 1/4 teaspoons ground ginger
    1 1/4 teaspoons ground cinnamon

Directions

Stir together the oil, molasses & egg, using electric mixer. mix together the dry ingredients and add slowly to the molasses mixture. Mix well.
Chill dough 2 hours. (Chill time not included in prep time) Form into inch balls. Roll in granulated sugar (optional) and place on non-stick baking sheet. Sprinkle each cookie with 2 to 3 drops of water.
Bake 375 degrees 8 to 10 minutes. Tops of cookies will be cracked.
Makes 4 dozen cookies. Calories per cookie: 68 (not counting sugar in which cookie is rolled)
