Nutrition & Calorie Comments

I just add ketchup on top no need for added sugar
This is a great recipe, instead of regular brown sugar I used Splenda brown sweetener, taste was great with extra sugar!
I substituted cauliflower for the bread. Low carb version.
I made this with lean ground turkey but if I make it again I will use lean beef & red onion because it didn't have any flavor. The water bath made it more moist than it would have been without it. I didn't use low sodium ingredients. The sauce- 1 TBSP of brown sugar made it too sweet.
Very good!!
I used a silicone bowl as it was the only thing that could fit in my small crockpot. It worked well and was easy to take out because it is bendable.
I also added salt.... had to do that.
Making this today. I used a foil loaf pan which folded a bit in my oval cooker, but I think will work perfectly. We like a little extra *kick*, so I added a few dashes of Tabasco and some basil, plus a bit of extra onion. I'm on a no-sugar challenge, so will be making the sauce with honey. Thanks!
Very interesting recipe. When I make meatloaf I use oatmeal (old-fashioned steel cut) in place of bread or soda crackers. Gives it more protein and less carbs. I haven't done one in the crock-pot (slow-cooker) before, but sounds like a great plan for a busy day. Will definitely be trying it out.
