Nutrition & Calorie Comments

I used Trader Joe's vanilla cake mix and Diet Cherry Dr. Pepper. It was FABULOUS and only 190 calories! I'm going to try chocolate cake mix next time :)
This was delcious and moist. I used 12 oz of Diet Ginger Ale in a Butter Pecan cake mix. I made 16 cupcakes...and the calories worked out to be 100 calories per cupcake. I iced a couple of them with fat free whip cream...that was yummy...my daughter loves them plain...they're so moist!
I made a lemon cake using lemon and lime soda. It was fantastic. I liked it enough to make it for a church group and it disappeared quickly. They did not know that it was low calorie.
How much soda? 12 oz? I made something similar to this with devil's food, diet coke, and sugar free cherry pie filling...like a dump cake...everyone loved it and no one knew it was "healthy". Add a little light or sugar-free cool whip and you really feel like you are cheating.
Made the cupcakes with a box of Sugar Free Pillsbury Devils food cake mix, can of diet rite Soda. 120 calories large muffin size 12 cupcakes. make 18 cupcakes and they will be even less calories. No other ingredients
just mix and soda. Took to work for my 60th birthday They were a HIT. SO MOIST
I just made this with white cake and Peach flavored sparkling water (no calories, no sugar, etc.). I added a little fresh fruit as well (one slice of peach per cupcake) and it was completely delicious.
Ok, what the hell is the point of it being LOW-FAT if it has 428 CALORIES PER SERVING????
Excellent, I made spice cake with diet Sprite and put powdered sugar on top.
First, calorie count IS correct because a serving of dry mix is 1/2 the box. Second, I used chocolate cake mix & 10 oz. diet dr. pepper and sprinkled cinnamon/sugar on top (eliminating the need for cool whip). It was good, but I still worry about baking with Aspartame.
This is a great & easy low-fat dessert recipe. Simply mix one box of cake mix and 12 oz diet soda (my favorites are Vanilla cake w/diet rootbeer and Lemon cake w/diet 7Up or Sprite). No need for eggs or oil. I like to make them in a muffin tin for 12 perfect cupcake sized servings!
The box usually shows the calories with and without the extra ingredients. Without eggs and oil is 180 calories per serving. WITH eggs and oil the cake would be 270 calories per serving. Just read your box when you make the cake.
The reason the cals are so LOW is because you dont add the eggs and the oil. When you look on the box, the # of cals that it will tell you are in each serving is IF you used the eggs and oil. So yes, this calorie count is correct.
OMG this is good! My hubby and my BFF who hate, and I mean won't even try lowfat, loved it too.
These cakes are awesome and easy. You can make them in the microwave Cook 8 mins in your tupperware container..it may look doughy in the middle but it finishes cooking once taken out, don't overcook. The serving size should be 12 which makes the calories @105 without toppings...try it warm.
Not a fan - tried it with Diet Pepsi and Pillsbury Reduced Sugar Devil's Food cake mix. Cake was very moist, but I just didn't like the taste. The combination of chocolate and cola just wasn't for me, I guess.
Used to have this all the time. It is a hit with weight watchers people. I saw some concern over the calories, but be assured it is low calorie. If portioned correctly is is under 100 calories a slice. Can't beat taht! It taste great too. Of course you can leave out the cool whip to save some.
I just checked some cake mixes I had in the cupboard. They all say 170 cal per serving (just the mix alone) with 12 servings per box. The nutritional info of 428 cal per 1 serving is incorrect. If you were to eat the entire cake assuming it was 1 serving, you have 2040 cal. Don't be fooled. ;)
Put a mixture of banana, apple and pineapple on top of a white cake mix with clear soda along with the fat free topping- yummy!
This cake was delicious. I made it with Pepsi Jazz Strawberry & a devils food mix. I am the baker in my circles and everybody was surprised to discover how many calories were missing - no fat, no sugar, great taste. Thanks for this one!
Very tasty but can be a bit dry and crumbly. Completely worth the calories!
Awesome. I used Lemon Poppy Seed and diet DR Pepper. Next time I will try carbonated water (cherry) with cherry cake!!!
