A hearty, delicious soup that warms not only the body but also the heart. Best when shared with family or good friends on a cold winter night.This was one of my Mom's favorite soup recipe's. She & my father loved to throw get togethers with friends & she loved to cook for them & shared this & many other favorites. She always made everyone feel at home. Ingredients

13 Bean Soup Mix
1/2 lb. Smoked Sausage
2 Med. Chicken quarters
1/2 lb. Ham or 2 Ham hocks
1 Lg. Onion, chopped
3 Cloves Garlic, chopped
2 Bay Leaves
16 oz. can Tomatoes, chopped or stewed
1 Tb. Creole Seasoning
2 Qts. Water
Directions
Cooking utensil: Crock pot
1. Rinse & sort beans.
2. Add enough water to cover beans with an extra 2 - 3". Soak overnight.
3. Cut sausage & ham, if using, into bite size chunks. Remove skin & any visible fat from chicken.
4. In the morning, pour out water & add new water to beans.
5. Add all ingredients & stir together.
6. Cover & cook on High for 6 hours. After 4 hours, if/when chicken is cooked through, remove, let cool. Debone, then return to crock pot. Cook for remainder of time.
Enjoy!
