Introduction

My mother-in-law gave my husband this recipe to make me for me our first Valentine's Day together. We still make it pretty frequently. It's so simple and even my two preschoolers like it. I've increased the amount of carrots because otherwise my kids eat all the carrots. I usually serve it with some instant rice and a salad. I found this recipe to be very good, but the chicken was a little dry. I made it again and added a can of 98% fat-free chicken broth, and it really helped to keep the chicken moist. Thank you for the recipe! :) - 3/10/08

This is delicious. I added a little bit of minced garlic and chicken broth to enhance the flavors. I also added a little bit of Italian seasoning. Very good and easy recipe!! - 1/28/08

I really liked this, although it didn't seem to have much flavor. I thought that the chicken was very tender! I served it over a cup of rice with some parmesan cheese , which my fiancé really enjoyed! - 1/22/08

Very simple recipe and very tasty. I've made it several times and have found that the chicken does tend to be dry. I'll have to try adding some chicken broth next time. It's still one of my favorite slow cooker recipes. - 2/9/15

I added an extra 1/2 cup of wine and 1 cup of chicken stock. Also about 12 mini sweet bell peppers, rosemary and thyme. Great dish! - 11/8/11

I used more liquid than called for, but meat was rather dry within; I may brown it first next time. Also omitted salt & used a lot more herbs/spices, since we're budgeting sodium. - 1/14/11

    O.K.
Dry and not very much flavor as others have said. - 8/4/10

I read the comments first, so I used the whole bottle of wine, but I let the chicken cook for so long that it was shredded and used a strainer spoon. Just the chicken and veggies marinated in the wine, DELICIOUS! - 11/11/09

The chicken was moist and had a decent flavor. The rest of it really had no flavor. It is not one of my favorites and I do not think I will make it again. - 2/14/09

Yuh-uhmmmm! This was really great! I'm also not a huge fan of cooked carrots, but they tasted so good after cooking in the wine sauce! Thank you! - 11/29/07
