Ingredients

1.5 Cup whole wheat Pastry flour
    .5 Cup Whole Wheat Flour
    .25 Cup Oat Bran
    1 tbsp Baking Powder
    3 Tbsp turbinado sugar
    1/8 tsp Salt
    5 Tbsp cold, unsalted butter
    1 cup chopped fresh strawberries
4 squares of ghiradellli 60% Cocao Chocolate Bar
.5 cup almond milk (or any milk on hand)
.5 cup Greek Yogurt ( I used Chobani plain, non-fat)
    1 tsp Vanilla extract

Tips

This would be great with many different fruits, like blueberries or fresh peaches! You may want to replace the chocolate with slivered almonds or pecans.

Directions

Pre-heat oven to 425 degrees F. Put Parchment paper on a baking sheet.

1.Whisk the first 5 ingredients together until blended.
2.cut the cold butter into smaller pieces and cut it into the flour. You could also use a food processor to speed this step up a bit
3. Chop the squares of chocolate into smaller pieces and add the chocolate and strawberries to the flour and butter mixture until they a evenly coated.
4. Pour in the almond milk and greek yogurt to the bowl. Stir until mostly combined, use your hands to mix well.
5. Take the dough and set it on your prepared baking pan. form it into a flat circle and cut it into 8 triangles.
6. Space the scones out on the baking pan, and bake for 15-20 minutes, until lightly browned and firm.

    Incredible!
Delicious! I don't have whole wheat pastry flour, so I used half white, half reg. whole wheat. Also subbed wheat germ for oat bran. I accidentally used only 4 tbsp. butter, but they still turned out well. I don't have turbinado sugar, so I used brown. These would be great with chopped nuts added in. - 8/21/15
