I've done variations of this for years - in fact it was one of the first "recipes" I ever attempted cooking with! :)

If you're looking for ways to reduce the sodium, use vinegar (red wine or cider) with a touch of Extra Virgin Olive Oil and a smattering of your favorite seasons. YUM!

    Incredible!
Made this last night, it's very similar to one I make in a crock pot. My kids loved this and it's super fast! With 6 kids, anything fast is awesome :) - 6/29/13

I've been making it this way for years too. Love this recipe! I usually don't use the whole bottle unless I'm making a lot. Sometimes I baste it a bit part way through cooking as well.

Chicken cooked like this is good cold too, sliced or diced on top of a salad.

I give this recipe 5 stars for the baking chicken in the oven as the recipe calls for. It's tasty and SUPER EASY - been using it for years. However, I marinated a 1 1/2 inch thick pork loin chop in the dressing overnight and then grilled it. Was TOTALLY underwhelming 3 1/2 stars at best. - 4/28/11

We also have been using a similar recipe for years. We do half dressing half water though and also add carrots, bell peppers, onions etc after the chicken has cooked for about 10 min. - 1/24/10

My husband and I make this all the time. It is great. Tastes great not when only with chicken, but you can also use this for pork loin as well. This marinade tastes great when you grill meat as well - 1/1/10

This also works great with steak! I freeze my steak in low cal italian dressing when we go camping. It tenderizes the meat and flavours it while it thaws out! - 4/8/09

I do not like bottled salad dressing on my salads. But I do buy it when it goes on sale for cooking with. It's a terrific short cut. I give this easy and delicious recipe
    5 stars.

I have been doing this for years, and it is good. I usually use part of the bottle and marinate the chicken overnight and then cook in the rest of the dressing the next day. Use quick release foil to line the dish, and there is no clean-up! Italian dressing is a great marinade for steak too! - 3/23/09

Sounds really good, but it does seem high in Sodium which I have to watch. Trying to figure out what else to use so it isn't so high. - 2/24/09

I've used this recipe for years with rice, water, and spices added. The chicken floats to the top of the fluffy, delicious rice! White or wild rice works great! My Sunday dinner crowd loved it!!! - 2/3/09

Me and my husband really enjoyed this recipe, my mother-in-law actually told me about it a few weeks ago. I was wondering though how it only amounts to 28.5 calories because there is no way that is right because 4 oz of chicken alone is 120 calories. I wish the nutritional information was correct. - 5/4/08

I've been making this easy chicken recipe for more than ten years now. The flavor is comparable to dishes served by pricey restaurants - No one would ever guess it was as easy as it is.
Also great with wild rice and asparagus.

I've been doing this with fish for awhile! For easy cleanup you can simply use heavy tinfoil as the 'pan' and fold the top together. I was planning on putting my fish/italian dressing reciepe up, but saw this one. Its very similar. - 3/24/07
