Introduction

Serving size is 1 tablespoon Serving size is 1 tablespoon
Number of Servings: 64

Ingredients

    4 cups smashed raspberries
1 pkg no suger added fruit pectin
    (Ball makes a great one)
    1 1/2 cup splenda

Directions

Put fresh berries in plastic sealable bag and smash till desired consistancy, I like my jam a bit chunky. In a bowl combine suger and pectin mix and mix well... Pour in berries when ready, measure into what ever freezer container you wish to store the jam in, seal and let sit for 30 min till thickened... then put in freezer, it is so much better then store bought jam!
Note: you can use any berries for this recipe, I chose raspberries first, my fav, I have to admit, lol....

I'm going to try this with fresh tomatoes. My mother (and Knott's Berry Farm) used to make the most delicious tomato preserves in the world. My mother passed away almost 20 years ago without leaving her recipe, and Knott's no longer makes it. I adore tomato preserves ! - 6/21/12

HELP!!!! I just made a batch of jam and it's not setting up for me. I followed the instructions, but used "CERTO" brand pectin. Couldn't find Ball. Any suggestions or ideas why this happened???? - 7/7/10

Now as a woman who recently has an intense interest in cooking I was ecstatic to learn that there was a quick way to make homemade jam! My friends are so impressed and nobody knows how easy it was!! - 8/5/08

In answer to CHI4CHI, the jam is stored in the freezer for up to 1 year and the jar that you are currently using is good in the fridge for 3 weeks to a month. - 7/31/08

I don't know, I thought apples were blanched before being canned, but I am no expert, lol this was my first canning attempt.... you could try and let us know what you learned....
