This is a left-over soup. Small amount of hamburg, onion, canned tomatoes and whatever left-over vegetables are in the fridge. You can add corn, string beans, etc. You can play with ingredients to even lower the calories more or make it vegetarian if you'd like or add pasta instead of potatoes. I love making hamburger soup too..with whatever veggies I have, but I usually have a frozen package of the veggie mix. I also add diced tomatoes and low sodium black beans. For a little kick I use the Hot & Spicy V-8! - 7/8/11

Thank-you. It's a great way to clean out the refrigerater to. My mother called this Refrigerater Soup because we had it every time she cleaned out the fridge.

    Incredible!
I have tried other hamburger soups but this one everyone liked. I added garlic to mine and cabbage and corn. Very yummy. You have on the list though 2 cans of tomatoes. What size is the cans? I used the big ones. - 2/28/09

I'm not sure if I answered your question earlier or not. I use 2 large cans, but if I have 1/2 a leftover jar of spagetti sauce, I fill it with water and use that plus 1 large can of sauce. I've even used 2 small cans of tomato paste (when I was out of the others) and about 2 quarts of water.

Made this for lunch minus the zucchini. Didn't have any so I used cabbage. It was delicious. I will be making this again! - 2/21/09
