I used tomatoes that were salt free and left out the salt...there was WAY to much Sodium in this recipe. Overall it was very tasty and satisfying. - 1/9/10

This was very good. I didn't have fresh okra so I used a box of baby lima beans. This was even better the next day. - 12/27/07

Wow, that is a LOT of sodium! Eliminating added salt, and using reduced or no-salt-added tomatoes and broth would make a huge difference. - 1/9/10

I love Turkey best and it's healthier than most meats. Yes, it depends on the fat content and how you cook it. : ) I know. Good stuff though, love it. Thanx. - 1/9/10

I used sodium free broth and tomatoes (cuts down the sodium a lot) and left out the okra, added carrots and near the end kale in place of okra. I also used precooked brown rice (it takes much longer than 15 mins. to cook it). This was great thanks! - 2/11/12

Sounds delicious. Will be trying soon but may substitute a frozen bag of gumbo mixed vegetables. I love okra but all okra may be too much of a good thing for me and hubby would not touch it. - 2/11/11
