Initially this didn't have enough flavour for our liking, but then I made it with low fat, low sodium chicken broth, added about 1/2 cup diced cooked ham, some rosemary and a dash of curry -- very tasty and nourishing! - 2/20/09

sauteed veggies first in a tbsp olive oil, then threw in chicken stock and half the peas. After simmering for about 1/2 hour throw in rest of peas and simmer about 20 minutes so some of the soup has a little texture. - 4/23/09

Mine is in the crock pot as I type, I added chunks of ham 8ozs cut to 1/2 inch at the deli. Easier to track. I make this often just wanted to try this for easier tracking. Green peas and yellw work just as well, you can even mix them for a different look. I puree half the peas and add them back. - 4/1/11

Is there a taste difference between the yellow and green peas? I can only find the green ones.

I loved this! Made with all broth, added a dash of cumin and omitted the celery and half of the onions (it seemed like a lot). Next time I will try adding ham chunks. YUM! - 5/23/09

It is a good way to use up ham from the holidays. We have a small family and ham goes a long way for us in sandwiches, casseroles and soup. - 12/27/07
