Introduction

It's so easy to make your own taco seasoning mix and tastes so much better that premixes. It's so easy to make your own taco seasoning mix and tastes so much better that premixes.
Number of Servings: 15

Ingredients

    ¼ Cup Dried Onion Flakes
    4 Tbsp. Chili Powder
    1Tbsp. Salt
    4 tsp. Corn Starch
    3 tsp. Cumin Powder
    3 tsp. Dried Minced Garlic
    3 tsp. Onion Powder
    2 tsp. Hot Pepper Flakes*
    2 tsp. Beef Bullion Powder
    1 ½ tsp. Oregano

Directions

Combine all the ingredients and store in an air-tight container. When you make tacos, brown the ground beef in a skillet and sprinkle the taco seasoning on the browned meat according to your own taste. Add a few tablespoons of water, and let simmer for a few minutes.
When you're using for Mexican dishes, use about 1 tablespoon or so per 1 pound ground beef, or chicken or beans. More if you like the extra flavor.

*Note: I only add 1 tsp Hot Pepper Flakes. That’s enough for me.

    Very Good
This recipe is a really good start. After trying it once I did add a lot more pepper flakes and some extra chili powder to heat it up a little. After the additions, I actually got a few compliments (they like the extra heat.) - 5/27/09

    Incredible!
This was great! I used it in shredded chicken, probably would have been better to use chicked boulion instead of beef but it still was great and smells absolutely wonderful! - 5/5/09
