Number of Servings: 1

Ingredients

    1/4 cup butter
    1 1/2 teaspoons minced garlic
1 pound peeled and deveined medium shrimp
    1/4 cup chopped green onions
    1/4 cup dry white wine
    1/3 cup heavy cream
    2 tablespoons chopped fresh basil
    2 roma (plum) tomatoes, chopped
1 pinch cayenne pepper, or to taste
    salt and pepper to taste

Directions

Melt the butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Stir in the shrimp, garlic, and green onions. Cook and stir until the shrimp are pink on the outside, and no longer translucent in the center, about 5 minutes. Set the shrimp aside, and pour in the wine, cream, tomatoes, basil, and cayenne pepper. Bring to a simmer, then reduce heat to medium-low, and simmer until the sauce will coat the back of a spoon, about 10 minutes.
Stir the shrimp back into the sauce, and season to taste with salt and pepper. Heat through and serve.

If I was floating in that much butter I'd be happy too : ) I don't think I would make this. - 11/26/09

Based on the fact that it calls for 1 lb of shrimp, I'd bet this is actually a recipe for 4 servings - not 1. - 4/29/09

Looking at the fact that the calories are well over 1100 I don't think I would touch it. Are you sure this is right? - 4/29/09

    Bad
Thsi is outrageously high in calories, and the serving size CANNOT be right. There is no way I would make this unless I wanted to blow my diet altogether. - 4/29/09

Has anyone made this using milk instead of heavy cream? I know the sauce will be thinner. This one meal pretty much is my entire calorie & is all of my fat intake for the day. But it sounds really good! - 4/29/09

Surely this is more than one serving...??? - 4/29/09
