the name is Indian: Daliya . And like many foods that are world popular this is basically "cream of wheat" just using the whole gain. And from scratch.
Bulgar is cooked whole grain wheat.

I make this savory Indian style like Upma with peas, carrots, beans, tomatoes, etc. For seasoning we use 1tsp mustard seeds, 1tsp split, peeled black gram, chopped green chilies and garnish with cilantro. Just wonder what is Indian about this recipe? - 8/24/09

Lori asked how long it will take to cook. You cook cracked wheat/bulgar the same way you cook rice. It's a great and healthier substitute. - 8/24/09

haven't tried it yet...sounds like 'cream of wheat'. I'll probably go with spicin' it up instead of sugar. definietly intriguing.
