Introduction

These can be eaten savoury or sweet.
For savoury add to a roast dinner or serve as a starter with onion gravy or other savoury sauce.
For sweet add jam or honey or any sweet sauce combination.

Ingredients

    4 oz plain flour
    1 egg
    pinch of salt
    150 ml skimmed milk
    1/2 tbsp corn or vegetable oil

Directions

Heat oven to 400F/200C.
Sift flour and salt into a bowl and add egg.
Add a little milk and beat vigorously to generate as much air as possible.
Add the rest of milk gradually beating between additions.
Refrigerate for 30 mins.
Apply a thin coating of oil to pudding tins and heat for 2 mins.
Pour mixture into moulds & cook on upper shelf for 15-20 mins.
