Introduction

We love spaghetti at my house, but don't like spaghetti sauce out of the can. I don't have time to make home made sauce so I came up with this recipe to please my picky family. I was surprised to see how few calories and fat this had. We love spaghetti at my house, but don't like spaghetti sauce out of the can. Ingredients

    1 lb 93% lean ground turkey
    24 oz spaghetti noodles
    1 large can Hunts spaghetti sauce ( I use the garlic and herb one)
    1 pkt Spaghetti mix with mushrooms (Kroger brand)
    1 pkt Thick and Zesty spaghetti sauce mix (Kroger brand)
    1.5 cups chopped onion
    4 cloves garlic

Directions

Cook noodles according to package directions. I do not add anything to the water except salt. While the noodles are cooking chop the garlic and onion. I use my food processor and put them in together. Place the turkey, onion and garlic in a large skillet and cook til turkey is done and onions are translucent. Add the packets of sauce mix. Mix well. Add the can of spaghetti sauce. I usually add about 1.5 cans of water to thin the sauce down a bit. Simmer on med heat til noodles are done. I mix my noodles and sauce together in a large bowl to serve. Top with cheese if desired.
