    # Onions, raw, 1 small (remove)
    # Garlic, 4 cloves (remove)
    # Tomato Paste, 1 can (6 oz) (remove)
    # *Tomatoes, red, ripe, raw, year round average, 2 medium whole (2-3/5" dia) (remove)
    # Basil, .3333 tbsp (remove)
    # Oregano, ground, 1 tsp (remove)
    # Pepper, black, 1 tsp (remove)

    "meat"
    # Water, tap, 1 cup (8 fl oz) (remove)
    # Textured Vegetable Protein, 1.5 cup (remove)
    # Onions, raw, 1 medium (2-1/2" dia) (remove)
    # Olive Oil, 1 tbsp (remove)
    # Green Peppers (bell peppers), 1 cup, chopped (remove)
    # *Tomatoes, red, ripe, raw, year round average, 1 medium whole (2-3/5" dia) (remove)
    # Bragg's, 6 tsp (remove)
    # Chili powder, 1.5 tsp (remove)
    # Pepper, red or cayenne, 1 tsp (remove)

Directions

In food processor, blend Sauce ingredients.

In a medium bowl, pour the water (boiling) over the TVP and set aside for 10 - 15 min. In medium saucepan, saute onions in oil till translucent. lower heat to medium and add remaining ingredients and tomato sauce. Simmer for 5 minutes. Add TVP an simmer on medium low heat for 20 - 30 minutes.

    This is one of my favorites! I reduce the oil pretty drastically (2 tablespoons total), and it is still great! - 1/24/09
