Introduction

Ingredients

    ground beef
    ground turkey
    taco seasoning- any you like
    roma tomatoes diced (they hold up best to cooking)
    onions finely diced
    garlic minced
    red leaf lettuce
    shredded manchego- or any cheese you like
    avocados
    salsa- whatever you like
    olive oil

Directions

heat a large pan over medium heat
add 2 tsp. olive oil- coat
add 2 C raw diced onions and cook for 1 min
add 1 clove minced garlic
cook both for about 2 min before adding the meat
Add 1 lb turkey and 1 lb beef slowly to brown the meat, not steam it.
Once browned add tacos seasoning and coat all meat
add 2 chopped Roma tomatoes
3/4 C water (taco seasoning directions)
Bring to a boil then reduce to simmer
cook for about 5 mins, until taco meat and sauce thicken

Wash the 14 red leaf lettuce leaves, dry and put on serving plate
shred your 6 or so oz. cheese and put in serving bowl
dice 1 large tomato and put in serving bowl
pour 1 C salsa of your choice in serving bowl
cut up the 2 avocados to serving
remove taco meat and put in bowl

Serve family style and have fun rolling your lettuce tacos
