Ingredients
-
6 slices whole grain bread, crust removed
6 thin slices of 96% lean ham
1/2 cup 2% cheese shredded
3 eggs
1 cup skim milk
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp pepper
1/2 tsp dry mustard
1 tbsp Italian style bread crumbs
Directions
Spray a small baking dish lightly with Pam or I Can't Believe It's Not Butter. Cut slices of bread in half and layer on the bottom of the baking dish. Layer ham slices on bread. Sprinkle cheese on top.
In mixing bowl, whisk together eggs, salt, pepper, dry mustard, and milk until well blended. Pour egg mixture over bread, ham, and cheese. Cover with foil and refrigerate overnight.
Remove from refrigerator and let stand for 15-20 minutes. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Remove foil from pan. Sprinkle bread crumbs on top. Bake casserole for 45 minutes or until casserole is bubbly and lightly browned on top. A knife inserted into the center should come out clean. Let stand for 15-20 minutes after baking.
