Ingredients

    4 oz tuna (or other )steak
    2 tsp fresh lime juice
    1/2 tsp cumin
    1 clove garlic
    1/2 tbsp olive oil
    1/2 med fresh tomato, diced
    1/4 cup avocado, chopped
    1 whole wheat tortilla

Directions

Preheat grill or broiler. Rinse and pat dry tuna steak. Mince garlic and combine with one teaspoon of lime juice, 1/4 teaspoon cumin and olive oil in a bowl. Marinade tuna is lime juice mixture for at least 20 minutes, turning once. Chop tomato and avocado and mix with remainder lime juice and cumin in a separate bowl. Grill or broil tuna for about 5 minutes per side until no longer translucent; let cool and slice thinly. Warm tortilla per package direction. Place chopped lettuce in center of tortilla, top with sliced tuna and avocado salsa. Fold and serve.

    This is an easy recipe for great fish tacos. I've been making these tacos at the fire station for years and everyone truly enjoys them. - 3/29/11
