Ingredients

Pie Ingredients:
3/4 c. flour
1 egg
1/2 c. milk
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1 small box vanilla pudding--not instant
1/2 tsp. vanilla flavoring
1/2 tsp. almond extract
1/2 c. (1 cube) butter or margarine, softened
1/8 tsp. salt
16 oz. can sliced peaches
Topping:
8 oz. cream cheese
1/2 c. sugar
3 tbsp. peach juice
brown sugar
Directions
PIE INGREDIENTS: Grease pie pan. A 9 inch glass one is best.
Preheat oven to 325 degrees.
Combine pie ingredients in bowl, beat well until smooth, at medium speed of electric mixer. Pour into pie pan. Open can of peaches, drain well and arrange on batter, reserving juice.
TOPPING: Beat until creamy at high speed. Spread over peaces and batter leaving about 1-1/2 to 2 inches of margin between cream cheese and edge of pie pan. Sprinkle brown sugar on top. Bake for 35 minutes, until slightly brown. (Don't be afraid to over bake, it shouldn't be waterly, more sponge and cake like.) Let cool.
Pie tastes best if warmed slightly before serving. Serves 8
