Ingredients
-
1-16 ounce box ziti pasta
1 pound ground turkey, 93% lean
2-24 ounce jars Spaghetti/Marinara Sauce
1/4 cup chopped onions
3 cloves garlic freshly chopped
2 tablespoons freshly chopped basil
1 cup light or fat free sour cream
1/2 cup ricotta cheese, fat-free
3/4 cup mozzarella finely shredded part skim cheese
8 slices provolone cheese
2 tablespoons sugar
Directions
-boil a pot of water and add the ziti when the water begins to boil. drain when the pasta is cooked (about 10 minutes after it begins boiling)
-brown the ground turkey in a skillet with your choice of seasonings.
-add chopped garlic, basil, and onion and simmer for about 5 minutes. stir in the spaghetti sauce and sugar. simmer on low heat.
-put half of the ziti on the bottom of a large and deep greased casserole dish. put a layer of provolone, sour cream and ricotta on top of the ziti. add about half of the meat/sauce on top of the cheeses. add the rest of the ziti, another layer of provolone, sour cream, ricotta, and the rest of meat sauce.
-sprinkle the mozzarella on top of the casserole.
-cover with foil and bake for about 20-30 minutes
-serve with garlic bread and/or salad for a complete dinner!
