I would give this five stars if the recipe called for beef steak strips instead of ground beef. There are inexpensive and flavorfull cuts of beef steak that when cut into thin stips can be easily tenderized. And, also, do yourself a favor and add a teaspoon of shredded ginger or ginger paste. - 2/26/13

Pretty good. I agree with some of the other comments that it would be better with steak - thin cut top sirloin or flank steak. Great recipe to play around with though. - 1/31/11

We liked this very much! The recipe is versatile in that other veggies can be added as well. The more garlic and black pepper the better in my book! - 5/6/10

2 Tbsp of soy sauce was a bit too much. I made it with ground turkey instead of beef. Overall it was tasty. Would add more cabbage next time too. - 2/23/10

Amazing dish. It's light, it's a great way to get in a load of veggies...my little one thought the 1tsp of pepper made it a bit spicy for her...but I just gave her a glass of milk and she survived it. Definitely will make it again. Thank you thank you! - 2/22/10

I loved this! I didn't use the oil or the garlic (I was out of garlic so I just used garlic salt instead) - I also substituted green pepper instead of the red pepper. It was so good. Tastes good alone or over brown rice.... - 6/3/09

I used fresh grated ginger root instead of soy sauce. And fresh cracked pepper instead of preground pepper. And I used beef flank sliced into slivers. All in all, a great recipe and great flavor. Thank you. - 5/19/09

My husband and I really enjoyed this recipe even though it was quite high in sodium. I reduced the amt of olive oil, and had to update the calories as the brand of my ingredients were higher (w/low cal and reduced sodium soy sauce (go figure). - 3/24/09

I didn't use the cabbage but added carrots, yellow squash and onion. It smelled wonderful but was too salty for our tastes. I'll most likely use reduced sodium soy sauce next time. Was easy and quick to make. With a little tweaking will be a great meal. My fiance asked for noodles instead of rice. - 3/4/09

    O.K.
I was very disappointed. I love all ingredients but together they were very bland! I did not like the ground beef either, does not belong in Asian food. I will not make this again or if I do it will be greatly modified. - 2/27/09
