I have made a similar version of this for years! I don't use whipping cream, and I usually combine all ingredients except for the sour cream in a slow cooker and let simmer all day (it's delicious). For richness & creaminess I stir 1 tsp of regular sour cream into each individual bowl. - 1/19/10

    Incredible!
This recipe was introduced to us at one of our tailgates, and has been a request ever since. I add frozen corn with the beans and seasonings, and use lite sour cream and lite whipping cream which lightens the recipe, but not the taste. Kids LOVE it! - 2/19/10
