Introduction

A friend gave us some wild rice, so my hubby devised this healthy pilaf for us! A friend gave us some wild rice, so my hubby devised this healthy pilaf for us!
Number of Servings: 12

Ingredients

    1 Tbsp Butter, salted
    8 oz. Mushrooms, fresh, sliced
    0.5 Cup Onions, raw, chopped
    1 Cup Peas, frozen
    0.25 Cup Almonds, slivered and roasted
    2 Cups White Rice, long grain
    0.25 Cup Wild Rice

Directions

Saute the onions and mushrooms in the butter.
Cook 1/4 wild rice in 1 cup of water for 45 minutes (it will make 1 cup, cooked) . Separately cook white rice in 3.5 cups of water (this will make 4 cups, cooked). Roast the almonds in a dry pan a few minutes, to crisp. Add all ingredients together and warm until peas are cooked. Season to taste (up to 1 t salt).
