Introduction
This is the way I was taught to make meatloaf, I just made a few small adjustments to keep it lower in fat and sodium. To me meatloat is just a good old comfort food as long as it is not too dry! Ingredients
-
2 pds ground chuck
1 large egg
1/2 cup bread crumbs
1 tsp salt
1 tsp pepper
2 tsp mustard
Directions
Preheat oven to 375; put ground chuck into a large bowl, add egg, bread crumbs, salt and pepper and use hands to mix together ingredients. Add mustard to mixture just before moving to loaf pan or casserole dish and mold mixture into a loaf. Bake on 375 for 45 minutes, then check to make sure the middle is completely done. If not continue for another 5 to 10 minutes until cooked all the way through.
** You can also use lean ground beef and also I have always used ketchup in place of mustard until now, mustard has no calories.**
