    1 pkg (16 oz) dried split peas, rinsed
    20 oz diced ham (about 2 1/2 c)
    2 garlic cloves, crushed
    1 tbsp dried onion
    2 tsp dried parsley
    2 tsp seasoned salt
    1/2 tsp black pepper
    6 c. water
    2 tbsp ham bouillon (optional)


Layer ingredients in crock pot in order listed.

Add water (do not stir).

Cook on low for 8-10 hours or longer. Stir, mashing peas to thicken soup if desired. Makes 8 large bowls of soup.
