I took this whole wheat recipe from a cookbook and upped the nutritional content by substituting whole wheat flour for the regular flour and adding wheat bran, wheat germ, oats, flax seed, and sunflower seeds. Ingredients

    2 1/4 tsp. yeast
    3 c. whole wheat flour
    2 tsp salt
    1 Tbs. unsalted butter
    1/4 c. honey
    1/2 c. 2% milk
    1/2 c. water
    1 large egg
    2 Tbs. wheat bran
    2 Tbs. wheat germ
    1/4 c. old fashioned oats
    2 Tbs. flax seed
    2 Tbs. roasted unsalted sunflower seeds

Directions

Add all ingredients to bread maker in order specified by bread machine manual and start on "basic" setting for 1.5 lb loaf. Works best with crust setting selected to "dark". Substitutions such as margarine for the butter and soy, rice, skim, or whole milk can be made.
