Introduction

This recipe has been in my family for years. I do not know the original source. These are not healthy by any means. These are a comfort food from my childhood that I usually reserve as a birthday treat. This recipe has been in my family for years. I do not know the original source. Ingredients

    2 cups white granulated sugar
    1/2 cup fat free milk
    1 teaspoon vanilla extract
    3 cups Quaker 1-Minute Oats
    1 stick unsalted butter, cubed
    4 Tablespoons Hershey's Cocoa Powder
3/4 cup JIF creamy peanut butter

Directions

In large saucepan, mix sugar and cocoa powder until blended. Add cubed butter and milk. Bring to a boil while stirring constantly. Boil for one minute. Remove from heat and add peanut butter and vanilla. Stir until well blended (peanut butter will "melt" into chocolate mixture). Add oats and stir until well coated.

On wax paper, drop scoops of cookie mixture. (I use a small cookie dough scoop and was able to get 36 cookies).

Let stand until cookie are cool and set. Keep in an airtight container.

These are really good with a cold glass of milk.
