Introduction

Pre-cooked crust for pecan or other fruit filled pies. Pre-cooked crust for pecan or other fruit filled pies.

Ingredients

    1 cup whole wheat flour
    3 tbls ice water
    1 tsp lemon juice
    2 tbls powdered sugar
    1/4 tsp salt
    3 tbls shortening

Directions

Combine 1/4 cup flour w/ water & juice, whisk into slurry. In seperate large bowl combine remaining flour, sugar, and salt. Cut in the shortening to make coarse mixture. Add slurry, tossing until flour is moist.
Press onto heavy wrap; cover with second piece of wrap and roll into 12 inch circle.
Freeze for approximately 10 minutes. Preheat oven to 350. Take out of the freeaer, remove the wrap and press into pie crust. Bake for 8 minutes. Cool while preparing pie filling.
