    1/4 cup white sugar
    1/2 cup brown sugar packed
    1/4 cup unsweetened applesauce
    1/4 cup egg whites
    1 tsp vanilla extract
    1 cup whole wheat flour
    1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
    1 tsp baking powder
    3/4 cup milk chocolate (or semi sweet) chocolate chips


Preheat oven to 350. Mix white sugar and brown sugar together. Add applesauce, egg whites, and vanilla. In a separate bowl, mix flour, cocoa powder, and baking soda together. Add flour mixture to sugar mixture. Mix well. Add chocolate chips and mix well again.

Drop by teaspoon full onto parchment lined baking sheet or baking sheet sprayed with cooking spray. Bake for 8-10 minutes at 350. Cool on rack.

    I think these turned out really good. Was craving something sweet, but not terrible for me. I used a total of 2 egg whites instead of measuring out 1/4 cup and I added about 3/4 teaspoon of vanilla. Other than that I followed the recipe. They turned out "cakey" but I like them that way! - 1/23/10

    I added 1/2 cup of quick oats as well so the batter wasn't quite as runny/cakey. I was able to get 28 cookies out of this recipie and when entered in WW, it came to 1 point per cookie. Also, my picky kids loved them!! :D - 4/15/13
