Number of Servings: 12

Ingredients

    large can of sweet potatoes, drained and mashed
    1 cup sugar
    2 eggs
    1/2 cup milk
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/3 stick margarine (melted)

    Topping
    1 cup packed brown sugar
    1/2 cup flour
    1/3 cup melted butter
    1 cup chopped pecans

Directions

Mix all the main ingredients well. Pour intoa buttered 9 inch square shallow pan.

Mix the topping ingredients and crumble over the potato mixture. Bake at 350 degrees for 35-45 minutes uncovered. Let sit for 10 minutes before serving.

    Very Good
    I used 1% milk, fresh sweet potatoes, only 1/2 cup brown sugar, 1 egg, and it came out very well! Not sure that it is a souffle, but it was delicious. Gave me a chance to use my hand held mixer too! - 1/2/09

    My mom makes this every year for Thanksgiving. This and turkey are what make the meal for me. If I ever go back for seconds this is what I go back for. This recipe is more or less identical to my mom's. Some good stuff. - 11/28/08
