Ingredients

2/3 cup honey
1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
1/2 cup white whole wheat flour
1/4 tsp baking powder
1/4 tsp baking soda
1/4 tsp salt
1/2 cup unsweetened applesauce
2 TBS olive oil
1 large egg
3/4 pure vanilla extract
Directions
preheat over to 350, and spray an 8 inch pan with olive oil
place the honey in a large glass measuring cup. Microwave until the honey is runny and just bubbling, 45-60 seconds. Add cocoa and stir with a fork until well combined. Let cool to room temp.
meanwhile in a small bowl, place flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt and whisk until combined.
in a large bowl combine applesauce, oil, egg, and vanilla. Whisk together until smooth. Add flour mixture to the liquid, and stir until no trace of flour is seen. scrape batter into pan.
bake until the edges of the pan are dry, and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with moist crumbs clinging to it. About 25 minutes. Let cool completely and slice into 16 squares.
