Ingredients

    2 cup diced ham
    1 cup diced onion
    1 cup sliced celery
    1 cup diced bell pepper
    2 cup sliced mushrooms
    1/2 cup white wine
    2 tsp basil
    2 loaves french bread, sliced and cubed
    6 slices wheat bread, cubed
    9 eggs
    2 cup half & half
    6 cup milk
    3 cup shredded monterey jack cheese
    pepper to taste

Directions

Grease 2 9x13" pans. Preheat oven to 350 degrees (F). Saute vegetables together until onions start to sweat. Add wine, and let cook 5 minutes more. Remove from heat to cool. Beat eggs, milk, and half & half together. Add pepper to taste. Add the bread, stir, and let soak for at least 20 minutes.
Put half of the bread mixture into each pan. Add ham to each pan. Add vegetables. Add cheese. Mix well. Bake for 50-60 minutes, until custard is set.
